Position: Full Time Surveyor
Position Summary
This is a full-time position with Accreditation Resource Services (ARS), a division of the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ) The hospital accreditation surveyor leads and/or participates as part of a survey team that:
- Assesses acute care and critical access hospitals throughout the United States and its territories for compliance to accreditation standards (primarily CIHQ and Joint Commission), and the CMS Conditions of Participation.
- Reviews hospital policies, procedures, the care environment, patient care processes, medical record documentation, personnel files, medical staff credential files, and other accreditation related activities to assure that hospitals meet minimum standards of care.
- In collaboration with the survey team leader develop and provide both verbal and written reports outlining deficient practices in hospitals and communicates those findings both to the hospital and to the team leader.
- Maintains a professional and collegial demeanor in all interactions.
- Complies fully with CIHQ-ARS policies and procedures.
Position: Full Time Facility Specialist Surveyor
Position Summary
This is a full-time position with the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ). The hospital surveyor participates as part of a survey team that:
- Assesses CIHQ accredited organizations throughout the United States and its territories for compliance to applicable Center for Medicare Services (CMS) regulations, CIHQ standards and compliance to the NFPA Life safety Code and Health Care Facilities Code.
- Reviews hospital’s building plans, maintenance and testing records, committee minutes, policy and procedures etc. Develops and issues verbal, and written reports outlining deficient practices in hospitals and communicates those findings to the lead surveyor and/or corporate office at CIHQ as appropriate.
- Participate in daily debriefing sessions
- Conduct a review of life safety, medical equipment, and utility system documents as requested
- Perform a building tour for compliance to the NFPA Life Safety Code and the Health Care Facilities Code
- Compile survey findings into the report template
- Submit report to lead surveyor or corporate office for review as appropriate.
- Perform other survey activities as directed by the survey team leader within scope of competency
- Maintains a professional and collegial demeanor in all interactions.
- Complies fully with CIHQ policies and procedures.
