Richard (Rick) Curtis is the Chief Executive Officer for CIHQ. Mr. Curtis is nationally recognized as an expert on standards and the CMS Certification & Survey Process. As CEO, Mr. Curtis successfully guided CIHQ in becoming the nation’s 4th CMS approved deeming authority for acute care hospitals. Mr. Curtis has been a regular speaker at numerous state and national conferences on the CMS survey process.
Mr. Curtis is nationally certified in healthcare accreditation, and serves as Chair of the Board of Examiners for the Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP). Mr. Curtis has a degree in Nursing with a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration.

Connie Compton is a senior consultant with CIHQ. Ms. Compton performs on-site consultations and mock surveys for CIHQ member organizations.
Prior to joining CIHQ, Ms. Compton was the accreditation coordinator for the Wellmont Health System and has over 21 years of progressive leadership experience in quality and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Compton received her Bachelor Degree in Health Services Administration from King University and is a certified professional in healthcare quality (HACP).

Alan J. Brander is the Vice President of National Sales & Marketing at TrackCore, Inc. Prior to joining TrackCore, Alan acquired over 25 years of healthcare experience including over-site of a 26-suite surgery department and the CNO of Spectrum Health United Memorial Health System. Alan holds a BSW from Calvin College, a BSN from U. of Illinois, an MBA/HCM from U. of Phoenix and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Institute at University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Traci Burgkwist is the Chief Operating Officer for CIHQ. Ms. Burgkwist serves as the liaison between CIHQ and CMS, and oversees the infrastructure necessary to administer CIHQ’ hospital accreditation program. Ms. Burgkwist is responsible for CIHQ surveyor/consultant training and onboarding, as well as providing standards interpretation to member organizations
Ms. Burgkwist received her degree in education from Pima in Tucson Arizona. She is nationally certified in healthcare accreditation, and serves on the Board of Examiners for the Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program.
April McLain RN, MBA, HACP
April McLain is an associate consultant with CIHQ. Ms. McLain performs on-site consultations and mock surveys for CIHQ member organizations. Ms. McLain has over 30 years of varied clinical and managerial healthcare experience that includes nursing management, quality management, accreditation, compliance and independent consulting; filling interim leadership positions since 2009.
Prior to joining CIHQ, Ms. McLain was a hospital surveyor for the Joint Commission. Ms. McLain is nationally certified in healthcare accreditation, and received her Master’s Degree from Franklin University.
William Kinch, MBA, HACP

William (Billy) Kinch is a senior consultant with CIHQ specializing in environmental health and safety. Prior to joining CIHQ, Mr. Kinch was the Safety Officer for a large health system in West Texas consisting of a 500+ bed hospital serving over 5,000 employees, two free standing hospitals, and multiple ambulatory sites.
Mr. Kinch was responsible for Environment of Care program, compliance with all regulatory agencies, and serving as the Disaster Preparedness Coordinator. Mr. Kinch received his Master Degree in Business Administration from Phoenix University.
